Car key programming is an essential part of allowing your car or van to start. Vehicles from 1994 are fitted with immobiliser systems that prevent a car being started by an unauthorised key.

Vehicle keys are fitted with a transponder chip that is coded to your car's immobiliser or ECU. When your key is or remote is inserted in, to an ignition and turned on the vehicle receives the transponder keys unique code to grant permission to start.

Quick tip: If your key is no longer allowing your vehicle to start we will first suggest having a full diagnostic check on your vehicle, we will try to diagnose most faults on the phone, in the majority of cases faulty transponders are the problem but faults of non-starting could include ECU, Immobilisers, Wiring and Fuses.
